Quality Assurance

Everything we do is quality assured and that extends to the strict compliance procedures and protocols we implement for our staff. Every member of our team undertakes detailed compliance checks to ensure we only trust and supply care workers who are fully compliant with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). These strict principles also apply to our agency care workers to ensure they too remain compliant with our clients’ contractual obligations.

Sahan Cares undertakes rigorous compliance procedures to ensure our care teams consistently adhere to the standards our industry demands. These include the following procedures:

Checks

We conduct annual checks with all relevant registration bodies to ensure fitness to practice.

Enhanced Disclosure

We utilise the Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), formerly known as a CRB check.

History

We request a full working history of every member of our care team to ensure qualifications, skills and experience is appropriate.

Immunisation

We always request submission of every team member’s complete immunisation records.

References

We request and verify two appropriate references, one of which must be the most recent or current.

Vulnerable Adults

We conduct checks against both Protection of Vulnerable Adults (POVA) and Protection of Vulnerable Children (POCA) registers.

The CQC is the official UK regulatory body for care and we’re committed to complying fully with its rules and abiding by its recommendations.

Most of our carers are either qualified or currently working towards the QCF Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care and they work under the supervision of the Registered Manager.

We believe standards are everything, so we require all our workers to undertake regular supervision and appraisals and we ask our clients to conduct regular performance reviews for staff who work with them too.

All our care workers are set personal training plans each year and undertake regular health screening checks to ensure they are physically fit to work.
